It is a 100% black woman owned consulting firm and an Exempted Micro-enterprise, Level 1 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) contributor. We have a highly skilled, knowledgeable and passionate team; who have worked either collectively or individually on high profile projects.
La Terra’s mission is to continually ensure sustainability across all sectors, where SHE expertise, services, solutions and best practice will enhance socio-economic development and minimise environmental degradation.

Founder and Managing Director
Zanele Phoku is the founder and managing director of La Terra. A qualified Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with more than 15 years’ experience. Phoku is a member and the past chairperson of the International Association for Impact Assessments (IAIAsa) Gauteng Branch. She is also a chairperson for the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) EIA EAP Forum.
Since qualifying as an EAP, Phoku has worked on high profile projects in South Africa, both the private and public sectors. Phoku holds a National Diploma and a B. Tech degree in Environmental Management from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). She is a registered Natural Scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
Lindokuhle Ndukuya
Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist
Lindokuhle Ndukuya is a Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Specialist at La Terra Earth with over 4 years experience in multiple environmental management and occupational safety projects both in the public and private sectors. He holds a BSc Environmental Science degree from the University of Johannesburg and is currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration with the University of North West (NWU).
Mr Ndukuya’s responsibilities range from environmental authorizations, report writing, project management, environmental and OHS audits. He is a member of the International Association for Impact Assessments.
